Bagara Rice/Shahi Pulao

 Bagara rice/Shahi Pulao is a well known dish in Andhra Pradesh which goes well with Aloo(Potato) Kurma or Chicken Curry or Raitha. It is very easy and tasty dish done during Occasions.
It has only few ingredients and small process which can be tried in weekends too and serves a good variation to Veg Pulao. Following is the procedure to make Bagara rice/Shahi Pulao.

Ingredients:
Cumin/Jeera seeds – 1/4tsp
Bagara rice/Shahi Pulao
Shajeera -1/4tsp
Sugar – 1tsp
Sliced Onions – 1cup
Ginger garlic Paste -1tsp
Green Chillies – 4
Mint leaves/Pudina((washed, dried and chopped) – 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves/Kothmir (washed, dried and chopped) – 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Rice – 250gms
Oil as required
Method:
1. Soak rice in water for 30 min.
2. Take a pan and heat oil, add Cumin Seeds, Shajeera and Saute for a while. Add sugar and when it turns to brown color, add sliced Onions. When they turn golden brown color, add giger garlic paste and green chillies.
3.  Add Mint or Pudina leaves, Coriander leaves/Kothmir and salt.  Cover it with a lid for 2 min.
4. Now add soaked rice and saute for a while. Add water in the ratio 1:2 or a little less and cover it with a lid and allow it to boil. Once rice is done, turn off the heat and Our Bagara rice/Shahi Pulao is ready to be served with Aloo/Potato Kurma or Chicken curry or Raitha.

Egg Bhurji is a popular north indian breakfast recipe made from crumbled paneer. Bhurji means scrambled. So in this dish, the paneer aka cottage cheese is scrambled.
The whole dish is sauted onions-tomatoes with spices to which the boiled eggs are diced and added. Its a quick recipe which does not take much time to prepare. It can be served as a side dish.
There are other types of Bhurji recipes that we make in north india like Paneer bhurji, Matar paneer bhurji and mooli ki bhurji. All these bhurji recipes are quick to make and ideal for breakfast. Egg Bhurji and Paneer Bhurji are quite popular and served in most north indian dhabas (road side eateries).

  • I choose "Seer Fish" for this recipe. It's known as King fish and Vanjaram in tamil.Seer Fish fry is a famous starter dish in Indian hotels and restaurants prepared with seer fish slices marinated in a spicy mix, coated with rava on sides and deep fried. This can be shallow fried in a tawa by brushing oil over it which tastes similar to deep fried. For best taste marinate over night in refrigerator. Try this simple recipe and Enjoy Cooking!!!

Tandoori chicken, the name itself makes many peoples mouth water....Hmmmmmmmmmm , including me. Its one of my very very fav dish. When my mom came to Germany, i prepared this for her. With no doubt she was so pleased and impressed by the taste. And accepted me to be a real good cook. Hahaha, from then, she started to tell all her friends and relatives about my cooking talent. Hahhaaa, one of the dish that took my name a one step forward. Very glad about that. Well, the recipe is very simple, yet very very tasty. Today i am here to give you the recipe..........So, here is the recipe just for you..........

Dimer kosha or Dry Egg Curry is a simple and easy to prepare recipe. I am very much fond of egg and this is one of  my favorite preparation with egg. We try to make different dishes to impress our family,my favorite is this.This is recipe I have used very less ingredients.

Palak moong dal recipe is very healthy and homey. Even though this requires very minimal ingredients, it tastes very delicious and flavorful. It is very easy and quick to make.
I do make many dal recipes which include greens like methi dal, beet greens dal, dill leaves dal. This is one good way to include green leafy vegetables in your diet. This kind of dal is perfect for those kids who do not like to eat greens as a side dish. Please adjust the chili if making for kids.
It tastes best when it served with plain rice. But sometimes I like to have it as a soup as such.

Tasty and crispy Tawa Paratha is made with plain flour, stuffed with the paste of ghee and rice flour and then shallow fried in hot tawa. I choose Channa Masala as side dish for the paratha :)
