Kollu Dosai with Spicy Broccoli-Mango Chutney(Horsegram crepes with Broccoli and Mango dip)



Why not we make a healthy breakfast??? I was starring at my cupboard and then  Horse gram caught my sight. I remember that one of my friend's mother make dosa out of it and why not experimenting that??? And also I had Broccoli and Mango in my refrigerator. Broccoli,with some chat pata ingredients, that makes chutney for this dosa. . I wanna give a try, fortunately it was amazing ;). . You too have to hit it once. 


KOLLU DOSAI

Ingredients:

Brown rice 2 cups
Horse gram 1 cup
Fenugreek seeds 1 spoon
Salt
Baking soda 1 pinch
Oil few spoons.

Method:

Soak the horse gram, fenugreek seeds and brown rice overnight.

Wet-grind the same, add salt, soda and few spoons of oil. Allow this to ferment on its own.

Then, heat up the griddle, make thin or thick crepes, as you wish.

 Broccoli Chutney

Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 shallots, finely diced
  • 1 chilli, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut 
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - 2  red chillies
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • ½ cup grated mango 
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)
  • Tempering(optional. But i tempered my chutney in this recipe)
Preparation
 
1.Heat 2 tea spoons of oil in a pan. 
2. Roast coconut,red chillies,shallots,garlic,chilli without oil in a medium flame to golden color.  Let it cool. Keep it aside. 
3.Heat 2 tea spoons of oil again,put the grated mango. After 2 minutes add the broccoli florets. Cook it for 7 minutes.

4.Add everything into a blender with salt and grind it to the consistency of chutney by adding some water.
5.Heat a tea spoon of oil in the pan.  Add few mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves.  When the mustard seed starts spluttering, switch off the flame and add the thadka to the chutney.
